Have I mentioned that y’all are fantastic? Because you are. Thank you so much for all the kindness and hugz and all that schmoopy stuff I sometimes pretend I don’t care about because I get embarrassed by it/feel unworthy of it and that’s a whole other ish and I’m getting off topic so let me wrap up by saying again: Thank you. Mwah.

Two novels I reviewed this year — Tana French’s Faithful Place and Tom Franklin’s Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter — are up for a Best Novel Edgar award. If the other four nominated novels are as good, that is going to be one hell of a tough call. They’re both exceptional novels, the kind I get halfway through and call up my mom and friends and say “You HAVE to...

Happy 30th Birthday, Buffy!
welcometothehellmouth: Today, our fair Slayer turns the big Three-Oh. In honor of the occasion, we’ll be watching and blogging some more of Season 2 “live” (or, sort of, kind of “undead” maybe). later tonight. Stay tuned.  My first reaction to this was, “What? Bluh, I apologize for the quality of the previous photo. The yarn is a pretty pomegranatey color but the photo makes it look totally washed out and brownish. Not that there’s anything wrong with brown! I am currently wearing a brown sweater! But this yarn is not brown.

What I did today:
1. Read approx. 100 pages of my next review book 2. Wrote a couple things, including the next Doctor Who Revisited post 3. Worked on a couple cross-stitch designs (you guys, I can’t stop. It’s TOO MUCH FUN) 4. Worked out 5. Showered (Hey. The bar cannot be set too low) 6. Set things in motion to have what I hope will be an AMAZING stew with short ribs, mushrooms and kale and now...
