Crafty Resolutions
1. Use the sewing machine I bought three years ago. I’ve got fabric for skirts, I have zippers, making skirts was on my to-do list for last spring/summer and I didn’t make any, and in the meantime there’s two years’ worth of dust on the machine. USE THE DAMN MACHINE.
2. Finish designing that one cross stitch sampler I’ve been working on for the last three months....

I will feel better if I clean the bathroom.
I will feel better if I clean the bathroom.
I will feel better if I clean the bathroom.
I will feel better if I clean the bathroom.
I will feel better if I clean the bathroom.
I will feel better if I clean the bathroom.

There is something not altogether unpleasant about...
It’s quiet and dark. Peaceful.
(Except for the kittens.)
And the exact moment that all changes? 5:47 am. First commuters.
4:56 am
I must have been having a serious stress dream because my shoulders are knotted up beyond belief. Anyway, awake now. Might as well make a vat of coffee.
Additional thought unrelated to anything else
I love coming home to these kittens. I am really going to miss Agent Cooper and Willow.

Belated thought related to my last post
Dessert Wind is my new fake band name. It’ll be a yacht rock cover group.
So you know that thing where you’re listening to Emergency Pants at work and stifling all your guffaws so your coworkers don’t ask “what’s so funny” because you don’t want to tell them you’re laughing at fart jokes, because even though fart jokes are always funny you have a suspicion that these people don’t share that philosophy, so anyway there you...
I am listening to Emergency Pants at work. I’m over a month behind on the pods and catching up seems like a productive use of my time and probably the only way I’m going to get through the next seven hours.
(At least it’s my Friday and I’m facing another five-day weekend. Still.)

What could go wrong?
I'll take "Inappropriate Father-Daughter...
I have a picture of my dad on here somewhere but I can’t find it. Please accept this reblog from January 1, 2009 as my contribution to the dad meme. Thank you.
smartgrrrl:
Dad: So what did you do last night? Me: A friend of mine landed a DJ gig at a restaurant-slash-bar near me, so I hung out there. Dad: I don’t know what that means. Me: Um…she played music? For people. At...

lefauxfrog replied to your photo: YOU GUYS DAN’S DAD JUST SENT US A TON OF BOOZE. …
That looks exotic.
Indeed. None of these labels are familiar to me. The Balcones Baby Blue is a craft whisky from Waco — apparently the first whisky made in Texas since Prohibition. I love that his dad remembered that we both like our scotch heavy on the peat, too. And I guess Killepitsch is a little...

ponyinarope replied to your audio post: Elvis Costello - “Human Hands” Perfection.
One of my favorfite singers, Sondre Lerche recorded this song a few years back. I had no idea it was a cover. It’s one of my favorite songs of his.
Yes! And that cover was in the movie Dan in Real Life and that’s how I even know who Sondre Lerche is! It’s a good cover of a great song.

Another one of life's little annoyances
My desk is made for a right-handed person, and I am not right-handed.
