1. Twin Cities folks might remember KQ92 running their Beatles A-Z weekend, in which they’d play every single goddamned Beatles song in alphabetical order because they could and why the hell not. I think they started doing it shortly after Lennon was killed. Do they still do it? Anyway. One year I taped the whole thing and had an extremely pleasant if obsessive-compulsive time indexing all the songs on each tape.

MY POINT IS that because of this, I can no longer hear “Because” without hearing the beginning to “Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite” in my head right afterward.

2. The segue from “Polythene Pam” to “She Came in Through the Bathroom Window” is one of my favorite things.
