“I hear my She-Person coming up the stairs. Imma lie down right by the front door along with a ball of yarn I hunted out of a plastic bin and then when she opens the door I’ll give her my best YOU SHALL NOT PASS look. It’ll be legendary.”

Jayne’s biscuit making technique is a little odd.

At times it resembles some sort of ritual dance.

One year ago today*, I watched this cat come out of his mom.
Happy birthday, Sweet Baby Jayne.

* Around 5:30pm, actually.

Both Jayne and I appreciate the overwhelming generosity of our friends and family, albeit for slightly different reasons.

The Continuing Adventures of Gypsy and Jayne, Cat Detectives:

Gypsy: That squirrel is back. I like him for our perp. Let’s bring him in for questioning.

Jayne: I’m on a break. What’s a perp?

Gypsy: We need to figure out a way to bring him in here without attracting attention. Media’s all over this thing like flies on poop.

Jayne: I was going out for sandwiches soon, you want … hey, that squirrel is back!

Gypsy: Moron.

Jayne: We need to bring him in for questioning.

Gypsy: Good thinking, hotshot. You wanna explain how we do that? We have no evidence against him.

Jayne: My gut’s the only evidence we need.

Gypsy: What if he lawyers up? We’ll lose him for good.

Jayne: And while we’re yammering away over here, he’s climbing the fire escape.

Gypsy: Dammit. Call for backup!

Jayne: Oh look, a bird! We should bring him in for questioning.

We have reached the cat-human relationship stage in which Jayne looks how I feel.
