Is your sons name Bolt??!??? I love this more than i can say

Two things: 

1. His Internet name is Bolt van der Huge.  We also have taken to calling him Snorty McFartypants for reasons that should require no explanation. (He also goes by Snoozy McSleepypants, but alas, is not living up to that moniker today.) 

2. I’m not entirely comfortable posting pictures of him in a public forum with no control over who has access to them. I’ve got a Friends/Family Only set on Flickr and despite everyone’s general privacy concerns viz. Facebook, I have a tight lid on that site as well. If it’s established that we’re Tumblr buds and you’d like to be connected to me in either of those ways, hit my askbox.

Is that the place in Chelsea?

It’s a place called Rice to Riches — looked like yer basic ice cream shoppe, but with rice pudding instead. The one I saw was on Spring St., somewhere around Mulberry, I think? (Definitely between Broadway and Bowery, since that’s the direction I was heading from/to.) But it also looked chain-ish, so maybe there’s another one in Chelsea.

I mean to stop in soon. I’m not even a huge rice pudding fan, but a place with a sign like that has earned my patronage.

The Continuing Adventures of Gypsy and Jayne, Cat Detectives:

Gypsy: That squirrel is back. I like him for our perp. Let’s bring him in for questioning.

Jayne: I’m on a break. What’s a perp?

Gypsy: We need to figure out a way to bring him in here without attracting attention. Media’s all over this thing like flies on poop.

Jayne: I was going out for sandwiches soon, you want … hey, that squirrel is back!

Gypsy: Moron.

Jayne: We need to bring him in for questioning.

Gypsy: Good thinking, hotshot. You wanna explain how we do that? We have no evidence against him.

Jayne: My gut’s the only evidence we need.

Gypsy: What if he lawyers up? We’ll lose him for good.

Jayne: And while we’re yammering away over here, he’s climbing the fire escape.

Gypsy: Dammit. Call for backup!

Jayne: Oh look, a bird! We should bring him in for questioning.

More Mad Men details

I KNOW! I think they’re setting us up for Betty and Don’s reconciliation of hot steamy sex and Sally’s disapproval?

You know, I really hope not — much as I liked the scene where she calls him because Henry’s not there and Don tells her everything’s going to be fine, and calls her BIRDIE, which actually made me tear up a bit (what), AND as much as Don seemed to look at Megan during the Heinz dinner like “Betty was so much better at this than you are” (or maybe that was just me) … I think getting them back together is a huge mistake for the show.

But I would like to see them do something more with Betty than infantilize her. I realize this is her primary character trait, but it’s been four seasons. She’s due for some personal growth.

P.S. Was I the only one who looked at Megan in her Fire Island outfit and thought of the episode where Betty buys that yellow bikini and Don orders her never to wear it? Shut up, Don.
